Malaysia’s Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district is set for a dramatic transformation under the new “I Lite U” project. The plan, announced by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, provides RM4 million in funding to upgrade lighting, create public art installations, and enhance visitor experiences. The aim is to rival world-famous nightlife hubs such as Ginza in Tokyo and Orchard Road in Singapore. Malay Mail

As part of the campaign for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the project will launch with a parade scheduled for 3 January 2026, closing roads in Bukit Bintang for the event. With art-inspired street lights, sculptures, and pedestrian-friendly upgrades, Kuala Lumpur aims to boost its night-time tourism and appeal to international visitors.
